Obituary

Elizabeth Kelly Elizabeth Louise Kelly, 74, of Sterling, died Nov. 22, 2011, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, with family receiving friends from 3 to 5 p.m., at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Michelle D. Witherspoon officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Elizabeth was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Ellsworth, Kan., to Russell D. and Pearl F. (Black) Hudson. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1955 and Emporia State College, Emporia, Kan., in 1959, receiving her master degree from the University of Denver in 1963.

She taught at Northeastern Junior College for 37 years as an instructor in the Business Department, retiring in 2000.

On Aug. 12, 1967, she married Richard F. Kelly in Ellsworth.

Elizabeth was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Sterling. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and vacationing with her family.

She blessed many people's lives through her teaching and kind service, including Modeling Board, FBLA and many active positions within her church.

Elizabeth is survived by her mother, Pearl Ringer of Ellsworth; daughters, Erin Olson and husband Steve of Orem, Utah, Megan Kelly of Sterling, Colleen Niedermayer and husband Jon of Mason City, Iowa; sons, Kevin Kelly of Houston, Texas, and Brendan Kelly of Grand Junction; sister, Lois Leatherman and husband Jack of Lawrence, Kan.; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Hudson; and husband, Richard Kelly on Jan. 20, 2010.
