Elizabeth "Betty" Christie Edgar, 94, of Lakeside, Calif., died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, in Sterling. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church in Lakeside, 9908 Channel Rd., Lakeside, CA 92040. The Rev. Bob Mentze will officiate. There was cremation. Arrangements were made by Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.

Betty was born Aug. 21, 1913, to David Robinson and Matilda (Mearns) Robinson in Glasgow, Scotland. She graduated from high school, continuing her education to become an elementary school teacher. She loved children and taught kindergarten for 22 years in Santee, Calif. She lived in California most of her life, moving to Merino two months ago.

On July 27, 1940, she married R. Faris Edgar in Santa Barbara, Calif.

She was a charter member of the Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church for 50 years, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Delta Kappa Gamma - kindergarten teachers association.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Sandra J. Swart and husband Paul of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Penni Skurdal and husband Norm of Oak Harbor, Wash.; son, Sam Edgar and wife Sharon of Merino; grandchildren, (sons of Sandra) Rob and wife Michelle of San Clemente, Calif., and their three children, and Todd of Pasadena, Calif., (children of Penni) Caleb of San Diego, and Peter and Anna of Oak Harbor, (children of Sam) Timothy and wife Sara of Merino and their two children, Wesley and wife Mary of Dayton, Ind., and their child, and Bethany and husband Eddie Hidalgo of Brighton, and their four children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Jean Wintroath.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vacation Bible School at Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church.
