Edna Maxwell

Edna Maxwell, 97, of Sterling, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, in Sterling. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Riverside Cemetery, with the Rev. Joyce DeToni-Hill officiating.

Mrs. Maxwell was born June 15, 1910, to Francis Elmer and Anna Daisy (Jukra) Downey in Stevens County, Kan. She moved from Kansas to Beulah and then to Pueblo. She has lived in Sterling since 1945.

On Nov. 21, 1936, she married Walter Maxwell in Pueblo.

Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her daughter, Doris Maxwell of Sterling; sons, Robert Maxwell of Loveland, Gerald Maxwell of New Castle, Del., and Jay Maxwell of Milliken; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Maxwell in 2000.
