Edla Fern Scheel, 94 years old, and former resident of Fleming, CO passed away on October 28, 2017 at Good Samaritan Fort Collins Village in Ft Collins, CO.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 at the Haxtun Cemetery in Haxtun, CO. The Rev. Jodie Harless will officiate.  Following the service, the family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, 443 S. 2nd St, in Sterling.

Edla was born on April 24, 1923 on the family farm, north of Dailey, CO to  C.P. "Pearl" and Ellen Kennedy and was the fifth of seven children.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Rod Kennedy and Stan Kennedy, and sisters Irene Rockriver, Naomi Kennedy and Garnet Curtis.

Edla is survived by her sister Selma Heath; children Dennis Scheel and wife Rita, Karla Brown and husband Brian; five grandchildren, five –great-grandchildren, and nine nieces and nephews.
