Duane Ray Tanner, 58, a lifetime Sterling resident passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Greeley. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 27 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Jared Sonnenberg officiating. The service will conclude at the chapel.

Duane was born June 27, 1959 in Sterling, Colorado to Keith and Edith L. (Schnittker) Tanner. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1977. Duane worked many years building houses with Klug Construction and Long and Berg Construction. He married Carri Jorgensen on August 27, 1988 in Sterling.

He is survived by wife, Carri; son, Steven (Kristin) Jorgensen all of Sterling; two brothers, Scott Tanner of Sterling and Willie Boltz of Fort Collins, CO; and granddaughter, Hadley Jorgensen; mother-in-law, Sandy Birdsley; sisters-in-law, Vicki Huddleston and Heidi (Matt) Korsmo all of Plattsmouth, Nebraska and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.
