Dorothy Elaine (Schoenberg) Koch, 84 of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Sterling, CO passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 29, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, at Riverside Cemetery.

Dorothy was born on April 11, 1938, in Illiff, Colorado to Adam Schoenberg Jr. and Molly (Stertz) Schoenberg. She moved to Sterling with her family in 1944 at the age of 6. She attended Sterling High School and worked at the Sterling Fox Theater as a teenager, where she would meet the love of her life. Dorothy married Kenneth E. Koch in Sterling on June 23, 1956.

Dorothy and Kenneth lived on a farm in Iliff, CO where Kenny worked for years. They retired in Sterling in 1997. Dorothy moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 2015 with her daughter and son-in-law.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Koch; her parents, Adam Schoenberg Jr. and Molly (Stertz) Schoenberg; her sisters, Elsie Luft, Eleanor Unzicker, Helen Rathmann, Betty Miller, Mildred Dorn, Delores Piro, brother Albert Schoenberg; and daughter-in-law Terry Koch.

Dorothy is survived by her 2 children, Kenneth Koch and wife Terry of Sterling, CO and Kathy L. (Koch) Kleinfieldt and husband Adam of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
