Obituary
Dorothy Marie Haynie, 96, of Sterling and formerly of Shenandoah, Iowa, died Oct. 6, 2010, in Sterling. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Mrs. Haynie was born Aug. 18, 1914, to Kelly and Myrtle (Linville) Thomas in Faucet, Mo. She has lived throughout the years in Iowa and Colorado.
She married Lee M. Haynie on Feb. 19, 1935, in Burlington, Iowa.
She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Haynie is survived by her son, John Haynie of Sterling; daughter, Diane Jones and husband Delbert of Ankeny, Iowa; and sister, Virginia McFadden of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Haynie; son, Don Haynie; brothers, Dave Thomas, Glenn Thomas, Irving Thomas, Robert Thomas; and sisters, Mary Emma Stanton and Helen Smiley.
