Doris Grace Stuck, 92, of Sterling, died Nov 2, 2017, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm Monday. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Chaney-Reager with Rev Brian Kroeger officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Doris was born May 1, 1925, to Henry and Alma (Smith) Noell in Hartford KS. She graduated from Hartford High School and then worked for trucking companies in Colorado and California.

On Dec. 10, 1944, she married Donald D Stuck in Fresno, California. After the war, he and Doris started their family and farmed west of Sterling. She worked for Northeast Colorado Health Department for a number of years before opening Craft Center of Colorado in 1967. The store was destroyed by a major downtown Sterling fire in 1977 and the Stucks reopened the store in 1978.   Doris sold the store to one of her employees. Judy Eastin, in 1983.

After retiring from the business, she enjoyed gardening, Genealogy, quilting, and spending time with the family. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Sterling.

Doris is survived by sons, Henry Stuck of Berthoud and Duane Stuck of Sterling; daughter, Marjorie Veselik and husband Ronald of Parker; four grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Schafer of Loveland, Jessica (Troy) Carstensen of Westminster, Christopher (Jennifer Stroud) Stuck of Louisville, Kentucky, and Daniel (Jessica Vedsted) Stuck of Keenesburg; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 2007; her parents, Henry and Alma Noell; her step-mother, Delle Noell; and ten siblings.

Memorials may be made to the O'Connell House. the boyhood home of Donald Stuck, at the Overland Trail Museum in Sterling.
