Doris Elizabeth (Hazell) Felix of Sterling passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at her son's home in Loveland, Colorado. She was 87 years old. Visitation will be held from 10 am to 4 pm, Wed., Jan. 3 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A private family service will be held on Thurs., Jan. 4, 2018 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

She was born December 29, 1929 in Atchison, Kansas, to Morton L. Hazell and Catherine Cecilia (Flynn) Hazell. She graduated from Atchison High School and attended Mount Saint Scolastica, in Atchison.

She married Ralph E. Felix, Jr. on August 14, 1949, at the Methodist Church in Atchison. They were married for 57 years until his passing on June 18, 2006.

They transferred to Sterling from Duncan, Oklahoma with Skelly Oil Company in 1955. Doris was a secretary at a local grade school before going to work for a Real Estate Company and beginning her real estate career. She obtained her license in sales in 1970 and her Broker License in 1980. She started her own company, Felix Real Estate in 1993. She was a member of the Local, State and National Board of Realtors for 45 years. She enjoyed helping people find just the right home to buy and later on specialized in Property Management.

She was also an avid camper with her family, especially during hunting season. In July 2017, she got to meet her great grandson, Brody Everett and was thrilled to spend time with him.

Doris is survived by her son, C. Kerry Felix and wife Kathleen of Loveland, Colorado; grandson Jeremy C. Felix (a Boulder Fireman) and wife, Katie; great grandson, Brody Everett all of Frederick, Colorado and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents and first born son, Mark Benton Felix who passed away at the age of 26, and a sister Ruthanna Marlatt of Atchison, Kansas.
