Donna Jean Kerstiens, 61 of Sterling passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 26 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Kristie Firme officiating. Burial will follow at the Haxtun Cemetery.

Donna was born September 5, 1956 in Denver, Colorado to Edwin Keith and Hazel Etta (Blake) Alexander. She attended school at Pleasantview Elementary School, Bell Junior High School in Golden and High School in Haxtun until 1974. She later obtained her GED at the age of forty. Donna worked many years at Devonshire Acres as a housekeeper and laundry attendant. She married James Ellis Wengert on December 27, 1974 in Haxtun and they later divorced. She married David Kerstiens on May 16, 1987 in Sterling.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, backyard barbecues, July Jamz, dancing, going to community gatherings, listening to music and spending as much time as possible with family.

Donna is survived by her husband, David; children, Thomas (Cathy) Kerstiens of Canon City, CO, Tanya (Jason) Mayhew of Haxtun, CO, Tina (Rick) Ramos of Sterling, Cassie (Nathan) Rosling of Roggen, CO, Tracy (Tim) Kalous of Sterling, Jim (Sandy) Tucker of Kiowa, CO, Tim (Sandra) Tucker of Corpus Christi, TX, Tami (Rob) Wilcox of Cheyenne, WY, Brandi (Mark) Kuntze of Westminster, CO, Melody (Johnnie) Williams of Clearwater, FL and Jennifer (John) Shaver of Fort Morgan, CO; thirty-two grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth (Betty) Alexander of Golden, CO, Lavonne Brower of Sterling, CO and Peggy Nielsen of Sterling, CO and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Hazel Alexander; sister, Laurene Richa; brother-in-law, Leo Richa and niece Tammy Lulf.
