Donald 'Donnie' Ray Simpson
April 4, 1954 - Dec. 17, 2007

Donald "Donnie" Ray Simpson, 53, of Sterling, died Dec. 17, 2007, in Yuma. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with a Vigil and Rosary service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Simpson was born April 4, 1954, in McCook, Neb., to Earl V. and Rosella M. (Karash) Simpson. He attended Sterling schools, graduating from Sterling High School in 1972.

On Aug. 19, 1972, he married Patricia V. Donnelly in Sterling. He had been a short haul truck driver for several years with HVH Transportation.

Mr. Simpson was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and Sterling BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336. He enjoyed motorcycles and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" V. Simpson of Sterling; daughters, Heather G. Lambert and husband Tyson of LaJara, Jaclyn D. Bonn of Sterling, and Renee G. Martinez and husband Mario of Evans; sisters, Mary Blake and husband Dale of Sterling, Linda Krier and husband Mark of Sterling, Theresa Krier and husband Kevin of Atwood, Sharon Youngblood and husband Rick of Rock Springs, Wyo.; brothers, Larry Simpson and wife Cynthia of Aurora, Wayne Simpson and wife Kimberly of Asheboro, N.C.; mother-in-law, Margaret Donnelly; brother-in-law, David Donnelly and wife Amy of Broomfield; sisters-in-law, Marina Simpson, Elaine Milheim, Joyce DeHerrera and husband Leonard, Connie Bornhoft and husband John, and Anita Hershberger and husband Forrest, of Sterling; five grandchildren, Amber Lambert, Morgan Lambert, Vanessa Bonn, Courtney Bonn and Kaitlyn Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Michael Simpson.
