Dixie “Dee” Rose Stuart

Dixie “Dee” Rose Stuart, 80, of Holyoke, formerly of Sterling, CO passed away Monday, July 13, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 17 at Halouska Family Chaney-Reager F. H. with Pastor Chris Rose officiating. Dixie will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery. A celebration luncheon will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18 at 618 S. 10th Ave., Sterling, CO.

Dixie was born on August 30, 1945, in Washington State to James H. and Mary (Covington) Stuart. Dee earned her master’s degree in education. She owned and operated a private school called Montessori in El Toro, California. She married William H. Borner on August 30, 1970, which ended in divorce.

Dee is survived by her son Curtis L. (Joann) Borner of Clarkston, MI and her daughter Leeah M. (Devan) Key of Sterling, CO; grandchildren Ayleah Rehn of Sterling, CO, Zachary Borner of Clarkston, MI, Derek Key of Sterling, CO, Renae Carter, Emilee Doorill and John Carter, and two great grandchildren.
