Debra Kay Loomis, 62 of Merino passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Denver, Colorado. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 25 at Merino High School Gymnasium with Pastor Matt Woodward officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside cemetery in Ft. Morgan, CO.

Deb was born December 4, 1955 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Howard Stanley, Jr. and Leda Joyce Salmon. She attended school in Merino and graduated in 1974. She married Robert Ransom Loomis on July 27, 1974. Deb retired from the Buffalo School District in Merino after serving for 23 years as a cook and custodian.

She is preceded in death by her father, Howard Salmon and granddaughter, Brooke Loomis.

Deb is survived by her husband, Robert R. Loomis of Merino, CO; sons, Howard Loomis of Merino and Byron (Staci) Loomis of Sterling, CO; daughter, Ashley (Nicholas Huery) Loomis of Merino; mother, Leda Salmon of Julesburg; brother, Roger Salmon of Fort Morgan; sisters, Kathy Wold of Merino, Nona Cook of Merino and Cindy Julius of Julesburg; three grandchildren, Adrian Loomis, Cayden Loomis and Mya Huery.
