Obituary

Deanne (Holbrook) Morrissey, 76 of Sterling passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021.Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27 followed by a funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Deanne was born in Lancaster, N.H. on June 6, 1945, to Virginia Holbrook and C.E. Lewis. She grew up in Lancaster, N.H. and in 1957, she moved to Manchester, N.H. where she attended 8 th grade through high school, graduating in 1963 from Manchester Central High.

In December 1963, she went to work at Amsskeg Bank until her marriage to Clinton L. Morrissey of Tacoma, Washington on April 10, 1965.

After moving to Sterling, CO in September 1965, she became a volunteer for meals on wheels for 20 years. She also helped with the Thanksgiving Dinner at the Sterling Elks for 20 years and with Well Oldsters for 10 years.

She became a member of the Patriotic Order of Does in 1981 and became President in 1988 and again in 1996. She enjoyed traveling and in recent years, cruising.

She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Holbrook, father C.E. Lewis and her in-laws.

Deanne is survived by her husband, Clinton Leroy Morrissey of 56 years.
