David Lee Rothe, 61 of Sterling passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, December 25, 2021. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 9 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 10, 2022, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1404 S. 9 ^th Ave in Sterling with Pastor Jeff Hanson officiating. David will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

David Lee Rothe was born June 7, 1960 in Greeley, Colorado to Lee And Marlene (Lind) Rothe. Later the family moved to Iliff, CO, where he graduated from Caliche High School. After graduation, David farmed with his father and mother. He soon moved to Denver and worked as a salesman for GMAC and was the top salesman for many years. He then moved back to Sterling to help his father with the Cement Company and farm.

David remained with the family until he passed away. He knew no stranger and he always looked for the good in people and never judged them. He was always willing to help when people needed help. When David's parents had some health problems, he stayed so he could take care of them.

He is preceded in death by his sister Kathy Rothe.

David is survived by his mother Marlene and father Lee of Sterling and his brother James Roy Rothe of Tucson, Arizona.
