Darlene Mae Grauberger, 80 of Sterling, passed away Sun., Jan. 3, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family in Sterling. Memorial service to be to be 10:30 am, Thurs. Jan. 7, 2016 at Zion Congregational Church with Rev. Brian Witherspoon officiating. Inurnment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Darlene was born March 17, 1935 to Leeland and Beaulah Evans Zigler at Akron, CO. She graduated from Haxtun High School in 1953. She married Albert E. Grauberger on Dec. 13, 1953 in Sterling, CO. They had six children and she was very happy.
Darlene enjoyed family, flowers, gardening, reading and collecting frogs. She was a member of Zion Congregational Church and was a humble servant of the Lord.
She is survived by her daughter Judy Karg and husband Don of LaSalle, CO; sons Ed Grauberger and wife Cindi of Wray, CO, Jerry Grauberger and wife Brenda of Sterling, CO, Wayne Grauberger and wife Sherry Mae of Greeley, CO and Larry Grauberger and wife Lorrie of Sidney, NE; brother George Zigler of Sterling; sisters Betty Uber of Haxtun and Shirley Grauberger of Sterling; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and special friend Ken Bemis.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert Grauberger in 1984; son Gary Grauberger; sister Ada, brothers-in-law Reinhold, Roland, Bud; sister-in-law Mick, and grandchildren Cole, Shantell and Doug.
