Dale A. Axtell, 55, of Sterling, passed away March 29, 2012, in Sterling. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Young officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
Dale was born July 23, 1956, in Brush, to James W. and Beulah (Steffensen) Axtell. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1975.
Dale was a service technician and a representative for Coke for the last six years.
On Oct. 23, 2010, he married Marie Miracle in Sterling.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a former member of the Logan County Posse.
Dale played in bands, raced dwarf stock cars and was a pilot. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Axtell of Sterling; mother-in-law, Louise Kane of Sterling; son, Daniel Axtell and wife Lisa of Brighton, and their children, Kelly, Colby, Cadeigh and Colton; son, Dean Axtell of Brighton and his son, Ethan Johnson; step-daughter, Rhiannon Hinton and husband Travis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; step-daughter, Angela Stuenkel of Sterling and her son, Michael David; sister, Janice Everitt and husband John of Haxtun; brothers, James Axtell and wife Carolyn of Pahrump, Nev., Don Axtell and wife Bekki of Sterling, Dennis Axtell of Thornton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beulah Axtell; step-father, Charles Briard; brother, Duane Axtell; and father-in-law, David Kane.
