Corlee Lockhart Raddatz Ball, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Sterling, CO. At Corlee's wishes/request there will be no memorial service at this time. A private family service will be held at a later date. She was born on October 15, 1919 on her parents' farm west of Peetz, CO to Harry and Agnes (Nelson) Lockhart.
She grew up on the homestead thirteen miles west of Peetz, just east and north of the Chimney Canyons, where she spent time exploring and riding horses through the canyons. She attended the Armstrong grade school, Peetz High School and Sterling High School.
Corlee married Ervin Raddatz and to this union had two daughters, Sally and Sharyln. While living on their farm she raised chickens, had a large garden and canned a lot of vegetables, did sewing for her daughters, helped with the milking, and sometimes driving the tractor, combine, and trucks. That marriage lasted 18 years and they later divorced.
After the divorce she moved to Sterling and worked as a secretary and then as the admissions clerk for the Sterling Hospital. She was single for 18 years, then married Harold Ball of Denver and moved to Denver with him for 18 years. When Harold passed away she moved back to Sterling to be closer to family.
In her later years she enjoyed embroidering and needlework, traveling, gardening, and growing flowers.
She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church and the Rebekah Lodge for many years.
Corlee is survived by her best friend and companion, Raymond Steinmiller; her two daughters, Sally Littler and husband David of Sterling, Sharlyn Worthley and husband Al of Ft. Morgan; one brother, Melvin and wife Betty (Nelson) Lockhart of Sterling; four grandchildren, Jodi Brandt (Ed), Tim Worthley (Kim), Randy Worthley, Kurt Worthley (Debbie); seven great-grandchildren, Henry David, Chandra, Wade, Tiffani, Dakota, Cruise and Hunter; two great-great grandchildren, Gemma and Liv; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three brothers, Russell, Hilton and Kendall; one sister, Virginia (Lockhart) Wagner.
