Coral D. Burton, 95 of Sterling, passed away Wed., Jan. 7, 2015 in Sterling. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Sat., Jan. 17 at Willard United Methodist Church with Rev. Spencer Green officiating. Service will conclude at the church.

Coral was born July 18, 1919 in Haxtun, CO to Lewis and Lola McCord Hart. She graduated from Haxtun High School in 1937. Coral lived in Haxtun until her marriage to Laddie W. Burton on Nov. 23, 1944. They moved to Fleming in 1946 and then to Padroni in 1958. They moved to Atwood in 1964 and became foster parents until 1979. They lived in Merino from 1974 until moving to Sterling in 2011.

Coral worked at the Sterling Greenhouse for 12 years. She loved taking care of her family, sewing and reading.

She was a member of the Willard United Methodist Church.

Coral is survived by her husband Laddie Burton of Sterling; children Avis LaFayette of Tampa, Florida, Lola Rasmussen and husband Roy of Kearney, NE, Glen Burton and wife Paula of Sterling, Lyle Burton and wife Shari of Sterling; foster child Sheldon Neuschotz of Sterling; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Leah Clark, sister Lois, brothers Ellis, Francis, Willard and Keith.
