Cora Lou (McKee) Bower-Erdman, 90, of Falcon, CO, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in Falcon. Viewing and visitation will be held from 5 to 7p.m., Thursday, March 27, and a funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, March 28 both at Halouska Family Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with interment at Riverside Cemetery. A light luncheon to follow at Faith Cornerstone Church.
Cora Lou was born on July 31, 1934, in Sterling, CO to Russell and Fannie McKee. She attended Springdale Valley School in Sterling before moving to Atwood in 1948 and graduated from Sterling High School in 1952.
On February 15, 1958, she married Wayne Bower in Sterling, CO where they raised their family, Lavonne (Bower) Fehringer and Raymond Bower. Wayne passed on October 27, 1987.
After graduation, she was employed at the Security State Bank for a total of 37 years. Following her retirement from Security State Bank she worked for S&S Auto; Arnold Ross and Singer, Attorney at Law; and Sterling Regional Med Center until retiring in 2010.
Cora Lou was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Sterling and the Shalom Women's Circle. She also belonged to Zonta and BPW organization.
Cora Lou married Donald Erdman on October 3, 2009, in Sterling and they moved to Aurora in 2012 to be closer to her daughter. After Don's passing on July 28, 2017, Cora Lou moved in with her daughter and son-in-law and they moved to Falcon, CO in 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russel and Fannie McKee; brother Dwayne; infant sister Dorthy; husband Wayne Bower, brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Ruth Bower; Kenneth and Marjorie Bower; nephew Steven Bower; niece Beverly Noble; husband Donald Erdman; and an infant great granddaughter.
Cora Lou is survived by her daughter, Lavonne (Mike) Fehringer; grandchildren: Nicole Miller, Chad Fehringer (Ashley), Josh Fehringer (Jillian), and Kelsi Adams (Albert); Great-grandchildren: Konnor Fehringer, Hannah Rhodes, Mason Fehringer, Bentley Fehringer, Paisley Fehringer, Levi Fehringer, Addison Scoles, Layton Fehringer; her son, Raymond (Mary) Bower; grandchildren: Chance Bower, Aaron Bower, and Ryan Bower; sisters, Betty Jean, Etta Jane McKee and Madeline Robbins; sister-in-law, Janet Wanstreet, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Roma and Perry Mason; and stepdaughter, Sharon (Lloyd) Michaels and stepsons Patrick and Frank Erdman; Linda (Jack) Hartt, Shannon (Darin) Jantzi, Kevin (Allison) Bower and various cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cora Lou Bower-Erdman Memorial Fund which will be distributed to a charity at a later time.
