Consuelo "Connie" Gomez, 86 of Sterling passed away, Sunday, February 14, 2021. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 19 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Father Herman Nsubuga officiating. The service will conclude at the chapel.

Connie was born September 13, 1934 in Galveston, Texas to Jose and Carmen (Uvalle) Ramirez. She married Oscar Gomez and the couple made their home in Sterling. Connie worked many years at Cargill. She liked to read, watch TV and crocheting. Her favorite color was pink, and she loved roses and canary birds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sally Gomez, sisters Dorothy and Esperanza and grandson Joshua Gomez.

Connie is survived by her daughter Shirley Hernandez; son Oscar Gomez Jr; grandchildren Sara Gamez and husband Wayne Brown and her children Dominique Marinez and wife Tatiana, Adam Banda and Alicia Bautista; Sonya Ochoa and husband Jorge and her children Ever Vasquez, Gabriella Vasquez, Jorge Ochoa Jr. and Graciella Ochoa; Hillary Sanchez and son Decker, Jermaine Romero, Jacquie Cano and her children Emma, Jayden and Emiliano, Luis Phillip Cano, Adrian Gomez, Andrea Gomez, Patricia Gomez, Joshua Gomez, Travis Gomez, Mercedes Gomez, Cassandra Gomez, Ezequiel Gomez, Emilio Gomez, Amaya Gomez and Athaniel Gomez; brother Ray Ramirez and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren Koan and Adonis Marinez and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
