Connie Elaine Nelson, 68, of Sterling passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Sterling Middle School auditorium with Jim Price officiating.

Connie was born March 25, 1950 in Denver, Colorado to Josh and Ruby Ramey. She graduated from Elizabeth High School and the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in music education. She married Gary Nelson on March 15, 1975 in Elizabeth, CO. She taught music in Pritchett, Sterling, and Merino, CO before becoming a massage therapist. She was the owner of Back in Balance Therapeutic Massage. She was a published writer, avid reader, baker and musician.

Connie is survived by her husband Gary of Sterling; daughter Stephanie of Johnstown, CO and boyfriend David Goff; son Randall Nelson and wife Shane of Sterling; parents Josh and Ruby Ramey of Fort Morgan, CO; brother Stan Ramey and wife Crystal of Fort Morgan; sister Twyla Rusan and husband Leo of Fairplay, CO; mother-in-law Pauline Nelson of Sterling; sister-in-law Nyla Marley and husband Wayne of Hot Springs Village, AR; sister-in-law Nita Stebakken and husband Ron of Sterling and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father-in-law John Nelson.
