Clinton Armstrong, 88, of Sterling, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, in Sterling. Visition will begin at 2 p.m. with a Vigil service and Rosary at 7 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the serice concluding at the church. The Rev. Robert L. Wedow will officiate. A private family inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Armstrong was born June 15, 1921, to Frank and Myrtle (Williams) Armstrong in Big Springs, Neb.
He graduated from high school. He entered the U.S. Navy on Dec. 8, 1941, serving during World War II until his discharge on Oct. 17, 1945.
He married Lucille A. Olson in New York, N.Y., on Clinton Armstrong Aug. 18, 1944.
He moved to Sterling in 1956.
He worked for KN Energy and was a cathodic engineer for the oil and gas company.
Mr. Armstrong was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, lifemember of the BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336, and VFW Post No. 3541, American Legion Post. No. 20 where he was also a past commander.
He enjoyed visiting with his friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Connie Armstrong of Sterling, Tammy Armstrong and Todd of Broomfield, and Joni Davis and husband Dale of Rapid City, S.D.; sons, Kent Amrstrong of Sterling, and Jay Armstrong and wife Lori of Sterling; daughter-in-law, Judy Long of Sterling; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille in 1998, four brothers and one sister.
