Cleta Lorene Carr, 91, of Sterling, passed away Sept. 7, 2012, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James R. Nash officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Cleta was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Yuma to E.V. and Alameda (Finley) Cornell. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1939.

On Jan. 6, 1941, she married Edwin Carr in Gering, Neb.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ruth Guild at Trinity.

Cleta enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting and sewing.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Brunkhardt of Sterling, Nancy C. Dressel and husband Dennis of Sterling; son, Michael Carr and wife Roberta of Gilbert, Ariz.; brother-in-law, O.J. Myers of Golden; nine grandchildren, Monte Brunkhardt and wife Carol, Mindy Meier and husband Rick, Mark Brunkhardt, Jeff Dressel and wife Dawn, Shelley Maher and husband Mike, Tammy Bigelow and husband Donavan, Terri Carr and husband Alex Bowles, Taylor Carr, Tiffany Baldwin and husband Chelsey; 14 great-great-grandchildren, Jena Yost and husband Casey, Ross Brunkhardt, Morgan Meier, Mackenzi Meier, Brayden Nelson, Bryatt Brunkhardt, Sophie Maher, Donavan Bigelow, Ashlynn Bigelow, Sophia Bigelow; Brynne Bowles, Adelina Bowles, Adian Baldwin, Isaak Baldwin; two great-great-grandchildren, Zander Yost, Zachary Yost; and nieces and nephews, Jim Cornell and family, Deb Mooney and family, Randy Myers and David Myers and family.

Cleta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie Carr on Oct. 5, 1980; three brothers, Don Cornell, Kenneth Cornell and Darrell Cornell; sister, Betty Myers; son-in-law, Duane Brunkhardt; sister-in-law, Sal Cornell; brother-in-law, Herb Carr; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Stamm and Ruth Carr.
