Clarence Phillip Hoppal, 82, of Sterling, passed away July 13, 2013, in Sterling. Vigil service and Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at Chaney-Reager, with Deacon Ronald Michieli officiating. inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Clarence was born May 13, 1931, in Iliff to Peter Hoppal Sr. and Eva (Schievelbein) Hoppal. He graduated from Iliff High School and was a farmer in Iliff.
He was married to Mary Boswell.
Clarence was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Iliff, the Moose Lodge and the Lions Club. He was active in 4-H and enjoyed playing cards and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Hoppal; daughters, Becky Haberkorn and husband Tim, Debbie Lyons, Cindy Smart and husband Garrett, LeAnn Rieb; son, David Hoppal; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
