Obituary

Clara Werner, 94 of Sterling Colorado, entered eternal rest with her Heavenly Father May 15, 2015. Visitation will be Wed., May 20 from 10a.m. until 6:30p.m., with family receiving friends from 5:00p.m. until 6:30p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thurs. May 21, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor James Nash officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Clara was born April 22, 1921 to George J. and Amalia "Mollie' (Fritzler) Brunkhardt in Merino, CO. She graduated from Merino High School in 1939.

On January 4, 1942 she married Albert "Al" Werner in Sterling. They were involved in farming in the Sterling area until retiring in 1984. Clara worked alongside her husband and children doing whatever the situation called for. Clara loved the farm, she enjoyed taking walks in the evening spending time looking at the crops.

Clara loved sewing, she spent many hours at her sewing machine making beautiful dresses for her three daughters. She also loved having her home surrounded with beautiful flowers, many hours were spent in her yard. Clara enjoyed attending Bible Studies and in her later years enjoyed music to the fullest extent. Clara loved spending time with her family, she was a very "special" mom, daughter, sister, and wife, grandmother, and friend. She loved deeply and was loved by many.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a charter member of Ruth Guild LWML of Trinity, served as a leader for Atwood Hustlers 4-H Club, a member of Pep & Progress Home Demonstration Club.


Clara is survived by daughters, Sylvia Bauder and husband Charles "Jim" of Sterling, Cherylon Loveland of Wellington, CO and Robin Croop and husband Randy of Steamboat Springs, a brother Alvin Brunkhardt and wife Martha of Olathe, KS. Four grandchildren, Jamie Bauder-Knox and husband Tracey, Jody Holland and husband Mark, Tyler Loveland and wife Jennifer, Kit Croop and 4 great-grand children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother Ronald Brunkhardt, sisters Eleanor Sweringen, Erma Schuppe and Bernice Young.
