Clara Ann Richmond

Clara Ann Richmond, 96, of Sterling, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, in Sterling. There was cremation. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the chapel at Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Derek DeToni-Hill officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Private family inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery.
Clara was born June 8, 1911, to Arthur and Augusta Asmann in Tampa, Kan.
Clara was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the PEO Chapter Z, an honorary member of Reviewers Club, and a member of the Christ United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed spending time with friends, family and especially her great-grandchildren. She was involved in many activities such as bridge, golfing, sewing and painting. For many years she participated in the Methodist Women's Christian Book Club and served on several committees.
On Dec. 25, 1934, Clara married E.W. Richmond. Together they traveled and shared special memories with friends and family for 55 years.
Clara leaves us to be remembered and celebrated by her daughter, Cheryle (Larry) Eakin of Sterling; grandson, Shawn (Melissa) Eakin of Frisco, Texas; granddaughter, Michelle (Kirk) Hanson of Castle Rock; great-grandson, Alexander Hanson; and great-granddaughter, Danielle Eakin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.W.; her son, Jeffrey; her parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Christ United Methodist Church.
