Charles Ray Lynch, 74, of Sterling, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, in Loveland. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, with family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m., at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the Berean Church, with Pastor Dan Holsten, Pastor Ron Smithgall and Pastor John Kenzy officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Chuck was born April 1, 1935, in Sterling, to Raymond and Lena (County) Lynch. A cowboy at his core, Chuck grew up on the Colorado plains of Crook.

"Rural Youth Square Dance" began a romance, and he married "his Ruth," Ruth Kenzy, on April 20, 1957.

Three children brought life and laughter to their home that was always held in utmost importance. He was an outstanding father and grandfather and was his grandchildren's biggest fan.

As a hardworking businessman, he was dedicated to his customers. He had a strong work ethic and was known as a great boss at New Method Cleaners. He could fix anything and had a solution for any problem.

He was a storyteller filled with wit and enthusiasm as he told of his latest golf round or travel destination. He enjoyed history and valued the importance of the past as well as the present and future.

With love for the Lord, Chuck invested his time in the Berean Church and was known as a man of integrity and a servant of God and people. He was a teacher of the Bible and always a student. He leaves a legacy as he offered God's full, abundant life to others.

He is greatly missed by his wife, Ruth; their children and spouses, daughter Joni Jones and husband Steve of Amarillo, Texas, son, Doug and wife Jackie of Fort Collins, son, Larry and wife Kelly of Fort Morgan; his siblings, Hugh of Sterling, Gary of Tucson, Ariz., and Cheryl Becher of Farmington, N.M., and spouses; his nine grandchildren, their spouses; three great-grandchildren and extended family.

Husband. Mentor. Father. Brother. Friend. Grandfather. Scotsman. Great-grandfather. Boss. Teacher. Servant. Chuck was defined by the Lord and his many titles only pointed others toward his life blessings from his Creator. As we all say goodby with love of this great man, we know that his response will always be accompanied with a bear hug and "mmlove you too."

Memorials may be made to Young Life, Maranatha Bible Camp or the Berean Church building expansion fund.
