Charlene Marie Gardner Trevino passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, at South Platte Health and Rehabilitation Center in Brush. A closed casket funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 21, at Halouska Family Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Spencer Green officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Willard, CO.

She was born on July 16, 1943, to Henry Joseph and Mary Jean Gardner in Shelby, Ohio. Due to her dad's military service, she lived in many states across the country. She eventually settled in the Logan County area when her children were born.

Throughout her life she was a homemaker and enjoyed attending church. She liked doing crafts like sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She also liked crossword puzzles and reading. Easter and Thanksgiving were her favorite holidays to spend time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger sister, Kathy Spencer, and her daughter, Jenny Schmidt.

Charlene is survived by her son, Josh (Jennifer) Schmidt, her daughter Janie (Brian) Whitney, her sister, Anita Pomerantz, and her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jacob, and Seth Whitney, Ashlyn and Morgan Schmidt, and Camden Sandberg, as well as her nieces and nephews across the country.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
