Cecil W. Swan, 80 of Sterling, passed away Tues., Jan. 13, 2015 in Sterling. Visitation will be 2pm until 4pm, Sun., Jan. 18, 2015 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 1pm, Mon., Jan. 19, 2015 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, interment at Riverside Cemetery.

Ceceil Wayne Swan was born Jan. 7, 1935 on the family homestead northwest of Sterling to Oscar E. and Mary S. Toby (Ross) Swan. He attended Liberty #76 Grade School and graduated from Merino High School. He married Margaret Gritton of Sterling in Raton, New Mexico June 14, 1952.

He worked for Great Western Sugar Co. for twenty-five years. He also worked in the oilfield, farming and real estate business.

Cecil was a lifetime member of the BPO Elks Lodge #1336.

Cecil is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Margaret Swan of Sterling; son Scott Swan and wife Demmy of Sterling; daughter-in-law Dawna Swan of Sterling; sister-in-law Alice Ross of Salida; grandchildren Mike Swan and Michelle Diaz of California, Kelli Aimar and husband Ryan of Northglenn, Stephen Swan and wife Samantha of Sterling, Kayla Myers and husband Chaz of Ft. Collins, Drew Swan of Sterling; step grandchildren Cassidy Brekel and husband Chad of Sterling, Brandi Klassen and husband Bryan of Fleming and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son David Swan, brother Dennis Swan, five half sisters and six half brothers.
