Catherine "Katie" Marie Stroup, 96, of Sterling passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 am to 4 pm Friday, May 5 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home followed by the vigil and rosary service at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, May 6 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Catherine was born February 19, 1921 in Iliff, Colorado to Alfred and Mary (Strobietto) Tadolini. She attended schools in Sterling, Atwood and Padroni.
On April 13, 1959, Katie married William Stroup in Denver.
Katie was a homemaker and cleaned houses and ironed for others in the Sterling area. She also worked as a cook for Re-1 Valley School District. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and MOCA. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and bingo.
Katie is survived by her sister, Inez Bass and husband, Ed of McCook, NE; brothers, Silvan Tadolini of Sterling, and Archie Tadolini of Ft. Morgan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William in 2010; brothers, John Tadolini and Frank Tadolini; sisters, Norma Asnicar and Helen Koester Timm.
