Obituary

Carol McConnell, 75, passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at the Sterling Living Center in Sterling, Colorado. Carol's family plans to hold a memorial service next summer in Grand Junction.

Friends may leave messages in the funeral home Guestbook at https://www.chaney-reager.com.

Carol was born in Roswell, New Mexico, while her father was in the Army there. Carol grew up in DeBeque, Colorado, where her parents, Cecil and Grace Bradley, had a farm and ranch.

Carol graduated from DeBeque High School in the Class of 1963, then attended Mesa Junior College.  She continued her education, receiving her Bachelor's degree in 2010 from Western Nebraska Community College, followed by getting her Master's degree from University of Northern Colorado in Gerontology in 2014 just before her 69 th birthday.

After attending Mesa Junior College, Carol moved on to married life, raising children, and working in several fields including bookkeeping and owning an answering service. Carol loved the outdoors including fishing, hunting, camping and going rock hunting. She lived several places in Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska and Colorado – but she always called DeBeque her real home. Carol loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and her smile will be missed by all.

Carol is survived by her brother, Ernest (LeRoy) Bradley, four children – Michelle Bennett (Todd), Cathy, Debra and Donna Laughlin. She left six grandchildren – Samantha Williams, Charlie Konopnicki, Austin, Hunter, Cheyanne, and Shawn Bennett. Carol also had three great-grandchildren.
