Carol Faye Howard, 79 of Sterling, CO passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Carol would like to let everyone know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of "offer you can't refuse", for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time: her beloved husband Lon Howard of which they shared 46 years of marriage, her beloved mother Juanita Q. Hurley, her father Doyle T. Hurley, her brother Ken Hurley, her sister Debra Hurley Vana, her brother-in-law Bernie McLavey, and her mother-in-law Becky Howard.

Job security is exactly 100 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be garage sale-ing, dancing with her husband, gardening in her beautiful mums and reading until her heart's content once again! Music, laughter, and love guaranteed. Food is delicious and she'll never gain an ounce.

She left detailed instructions for her family: daughter Amanda and son-in-law Mark Brunkhardt, granddaughter Jenna Maxwell, and sister Brenda McLavey, to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Not adhering to this instruction will not be tolerated.

We want her to know that she did a great job and wish her a safe and happy journey. We will remember her willingness to help everyone, her warmth, her energy, her love for her family and friends, but also the numerous N.J.C. Ag Diesel/Auto Tech students and colleagues, many of whom over time also became friends. She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. She made a difference in the lives of many and will be dearly missed.

Her family will be celebrating her life later at a later date with close family and friends.
