Bryce Allen Dettmer, 76, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Haxtun, Colorado. Please join us as we celebrate his life by sharing memories, laughter, and tears. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, at Peace Lutheran Church in Sterling, Colorado with Deacon Ro Fesser officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Kensington, Kansas on a later date.
Bryce was born on July 16, 1949, in Smith Center, Kansas, to Paul and Ann (Isernhagen) Dettmer. Bryce was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kensington, Kansas. He attended school in Kensington and later continued his education at Cloud County Community College.
On June 1, 1969, he was united in marriage to Linda. They shared nearly 57 years of marriage and built a life centered on family, faith, hard work, and devotion to one another.
Bryce spent his career farming, ranching and operating grain elevators before owning and operating his own lawn care and sprinkler business in Sterling, Colorado.
He was known for his sense of humor and his quick “one-liners,” always enjoying making others smile. He truly enjoyed meeting new people.
He loved the outdoors and spent time golfing, hunting, as well as working on home landscape projects. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ann Dettmer, as well as his brother, Gordon Dettmer.
Bryce is survived by his wife, Linda, of Fleming, Colorado; daughter, Nikki (Wes) Inman and their children, Connor and Lauren Inman (Ryan); son, Mike (Heather) and their children, Paige (Zach) Holtz, Corbin, and Reed; great grandchildren Sawyer and Huxley Holtz; two sisters, Bonnie Coop and Glenda Lindholm; along with numerous extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 1404 S. 9th Ave., Sterling, CO 80751 or a charity of your choice.
