Bruce Alan Sauter, 77, of Sterling, CO passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in Greeley, CO. Viewing will be held from 1 - 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with family to receive friends from 4 - 6:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 11, at Johnstown Cemetery in Johnstown, Colorado.

Bruce was born February 22, 1946, in Denver, Colorado to Joseph Anthony Sauter and Helen Ruth (Jones) Sauter. He graduated from Englewood High School and then joined the Coast Guard on February 4, 1964, and he received a medal for good conduct. He was honorably discharged on February 2, 1968.

Bruce later went to the Police Academy and became a Police officer and worked for the Sterling Police Department for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Helen Sauter.

Bruce is survived by his sons Mark (Melissa) Sauter of Sterling, CO, Ryan (Alison Hersch) Sauter of Fountain, CO, and Dustin (Brianna) Sauter of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter Amy Sauter Mullins of Yukon, OK, seven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and close family friends Ben and Kelley Hewes of Sterling, CO.
