IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brian Wilbur
Kipp
August 30, 1958 – November 18, 2025
Brian Wilbur Kipp, 67, passed away Monday, November 18th, 2025, in Haxtun, Colorado, where he lived his entire life. There will be no visitation for Brian; however, a Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., December 6, at the United Church of Crook with a lunch reception to follow at the church. Brian will be laid to rest into the arms of his loving family.
Brian was born on August 30, 1958, in Haxtun, Colorado, the third of four children born to C. Wilbur Kipp and Lois Evelyn (Carnes) Kipp. He was raised on the family farm north of town, where his lifelong love of the land took root, tiling the ground with his pedal tractor. He attended and graduated from Fleming Schools and began his farrow to finish hog operation in high school. Upon graduation, he moved to a property farther north of town, where he continued to expand his hog operation, had a small cattle herd, and farmed.
On August 8, 1981, Brian married the love of his life, Cynthia Lou Brunkhardt of Merino, Colorado. Together they built a life of devotion, raising their two daughters and working side by side on the farm. In 1991, they moved their operation over completely from hogs to cattle, while continuing to farm. In his early adult years, Brian was involved in the Haxtun Young Farmers Association. In 1989, he was awarded the outstanding Young Farmer Award. He was part of the Church of the Brethren in Haxtun and served as deacon and board president. He served a term on the Haxtun Co-op in the late 80's. Brian gave his heart and life to growing and maintaining the Kipp family farm. He poured himself into every task, whether working cattle, tending crops, or helping a neighbor. He was a man of integrity, character, and grit, whose quiet strength spoke louder than words. Those who knew him remember his deep generosity—Brian was the kind of man who would stop whatever he was doing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His abiding faith in Jesus Christ was central to who he was.
Brian lived his faith through action and humility, serving faithfully in many leadership and servant capacities at the United Church of Crook, including deacon, elder, and board president. His example of steadfast devotion encouraged all who worshiped alongside him. Two great joys of Brian's life were his carefully tended Red Angus cow/calf herd and his seven beloved grandchildren, who were the light of his days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Lois; father-in-law Ron Brunkhardt, his sister, Doreen Yvonne; brother-in-law Duane Brunkhardt and granddaughter, Rosalind Hope Hall.
Brian is survived by his wife, Cindy; their daughters, Lindsay (Bruce) Hall of Windsor, CO and Whitney (Brandon) Lynch of Johnstown, CO; six grandchildren - Ruby, Josephine, and Scarlett Hall; Harper, Theodore, and Sadie Lynch. He is also survived by his sister, Denise (Charles) Everhart of Boerne, TX, his brother, Darin Kipp of Haxtun, CO and sisters-in-law Joyce Lebsack and Karen Brunkhardt both of Sterling, CO. Brian will also be remembered by extended family, dear friends, and neighbors whose lives he touched with kindness, generosity, and quiet faithfulness.
Memorial contributions will be donated to the Haxtun FFA Community Pride Fund, to be distributed to community members in need, or to the United Church of Crook Youth Ministries Fund.
