Brenda Kay Perry, 81 of Sterling, CO passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, in Greeley, CO surrounded by her loving family. Viewing will be held from 3-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Pastor Jodie Harless officiating. Brenda will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Brenda was born September 29, 1940, to John Logan Gooch and Rachel Effie (Myers) Gooch in Liberal, Kansas. She graduated from Hugoton High School in 1958 and went to business college in Guymon, OK. She worked for a few years as a realtor in the mid 1980's. Brenda met Harold "Hal" Perry and they dated in high school. They were both age 18 when they got married on December 7, 1958. The couple celebrated 58 years of marriage before Hal's passing in 2016.

Brenda and her husband Hal eventually settled in Sterling, CO and she dedicated her life to raising her children and caring for the property. She enjoyed cooking/creating her own recipes and she was a master gardener and an avid dog lover. She had a particular interest in growing various house plants and her hidden talent was painting beautiful nature scenery.

She is preceded in death by her parents John Logan Gooch and Rachel Gooch; husband Hal Perry and sister Sheryl Alexander.

Brenda is survived by her daughter Laura Schumacher and spouse Andie Garnand of Johnstown, CO; sons Brian Perry and spouse Carla of Ft. Worth, TX and Brad Perry and spouse Amy of Thornton, CO; granddaughters McKaylee Schumacher of Greeley, CO; Andrea and Alisha Perry of Colorado and Kristin Venutolo of Ft. Worth, TX; grandson Logan Perry and wife Nicole of LaQuinta, CA and great-grandchildren Elijah, Nathan, Grayson, Arabella and Landon.
