Bill was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on March 30, 1944, to Elmer and Rubye (Purinton) Cue. Elmer was discharged from the Army when Bill was 2 years old and the family moved to a wheat farm in Arriba, Colorado.

Bill graduated from Arriba High School in 1962, took computer training in Denver, then joined the Navy for 4 years stationed in San Diego, writing programs and running their computers. After his honorable discharge he was the Data Base manager at San Diego County office of Education until he retired. He moved to Sterling in 2009 where his sister (Judy) lives.

He loved many sports and hobbies, he did rock climbing with his many jeeps, tractor pulling, drag racing, front Range training in firearms, and loved classic cars, as his dad had a 1931Mormad V16, 1936 Packard V6, 1937 Packard V12, and Pierce-Arrow.
