Beverly Jean Slaughter, 80, of Sterling passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. A Memorial service will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Powers officiating. The service will conclude at the church.
Beverly was born February 4, 1936 in Pender, Nebraska to Carl Sr. and Johanna (Clausen) Otteman. She worked many years as a registered nurse and furthered her career by becoming a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Geriatrics. Bev worked at the Rose Arbor Nursing Home in Sterling, CO from 1982 - 1991. She also worked at Clagett Memorial Hospital as Director of Nursing in Rifle, CO. Beverly enjoyed knitting, quilting, gardening, camping and loved fishing. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church and a member of the LeRoy Tri LC Club for many years.
She is survived by her husband Loren; children, Deborah Meader and husband Tom of Parachute, CO, Rex Wayne Slaughter and wife Jane of Meridian, Idaho, Amber Walter of Holyoke, CO; Sisters, Mylet McGath of Pender, NE, Jo Ann Brehmer of Ashby, MN; Brothers, Richard Otteman and wife Jean of Medford, Oregon, Merlin Otteman and wife Nancy of Ft. Collins, CO; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Harold, Norma, Dorothy, William, Carl Jr. and Ralph.
