Betty Lucille Mills, 88 of Greeley passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Greeley, CO. Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m., to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday December 17, at the Yuma Cemetery in Yuma, CO with Rev. Richard von Steinman officiating.

Betty was born November 12, 1932 in Yuma, Colorado to Carl Wilhelm Goeglein and Gladys Irene (Seide) Goeglein. Betty attended schools in Yuma, CO, graduated from University of Northern Colorado in 1954 and Northeastern Junior College LPN Nursing Program in Sterling in 1992. She was a teacher in Yuma for 3 years and then transitioned to working as a CNA and LPN at the Sterling Living Center in Sterling for over 28 yrs. Betty married Joseph Earl Mills on June 23, 1957 in Yuma, CO and they divorced on July 20, 1983. She raised 6 children, Leslie, Brian, Allen, Amy, Laura, and Perry.

Betty was very active in her church, working as a treasurer, singing in the choir and anything else she could help with. Her hobbies included gardening, painting, reading, playing in the community band, being a cheerleader & supporter for all of her children's activities, and volunteering at Heritage Senior Center in Sterling. She adored her children and loved her faith, and her family was extremely important to her.

Betty was an amazing grandmother. She was always willing to get down on the floor and play with her grandchildren and was always listening and teaching. She had an enormous heart, and was a kind, compassionate and caring person. She would help in anyway she could and go out of her way to care for others.

She was preceded in death by her father Carl; mother Gladys and brother, Kenny Goeglein.

Betty is survived by daughter Leslie (Mills) Frost of Florida; son Brian Mills of Colorado; son Allen Mills of Colorado; daughter Amy Mills-Goldberg of Washington; daughter Laura Mills of Colorado; son Perry Mills of Idaho; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother Carl Goeglein of Colorado; sister Mildred Miller of Colorado; sister Dorothy Cook of Iowa; sister Linda Huyghebaert of Colorado and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.
