Betty Sue Bowden, 74, of Sterling, died June 22, 2011, in Brush. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Bowden officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Cremation has been chosen.
She was born April 18, 1937, in Midnight, MS, to Charles W. and Ida Mae (Driggs) Avey.
On Nov. 4, 1954, she married Robert L. Bowden Sr. in Centerville, Ark.
She lived in Fort Collins for 30 years before moving to Sterling five years ago.
Mrs. Bowden was a member of Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed quilting, crafts and sewing.
She is survived by her children, Rick Bowden and wife Carol of Pottsville, Ark., Ron Bowden and wife Quanina of Beaumont, Texas, Brenda Cochran and husband John Paul of Atkins, Ark., Robert L. Bowden Jr. and wife Glenda of Atkins, Ken Bowden and wife Gayle of Kiowa, Kan., Danny Bowden of North Platte, Neb., Randy Bowden and wife Deb of North Platte, Timm Bow-den of Indianapolis, Penny Sue Street and husband Moses of Loveland, Sherry Penfold and hus-band Ty of Sterling; one brother and five sisters; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bowden was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Bowden Sr. in 2005; two grandchildren; one brother and one sister.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
