Bethel Nichols, 89 of Sterling, passed away Tues., May 31, 2016 in Sterling. Memorial service will be Tues., June 7 at 10am at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Bigler III officiating and service concluding at the funeral home.

Bethel was born Oct. 9, 1926 in Willis Branch, West Virginia to Robert and Edna Stover. She graduated from high school. Beth was married to Robert Nichols on April 4, 1958 at Raton, New Mexico.

She worked as a secretary for the United States Forest Service for twenty years. Beth moved to Sterling from Longmont sixteen years ago. She was of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed gardening, walking and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always went out of her way to help other people and was very kind hearted.

Beth is survived by her daughter Patricia Nichols, granddaughters Shannon Crompton and Sonja Boyce, adopted daughter Daisy Knight and great grandchildren Valerie Vejar, Jerrene Martinez and Daniel and adopted granddaughter Dawnette Knight.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Edna Stover, husband Robert Nichols in 1973, sister Lynette Anglin, brother Robert Stover and grandson Kristopher Boyce.
