Bertie Ionia Arnold, 86 of Atwood, passed away Sat., Mar. 19, 2016 in Sterling. Visitation Wed., Mar. 23 from 1pm until 4pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral service Thurs., Mar. 24 at 11:00 am at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Rev. Jodie Harless officiating. Interment at Riverside Cemetery.

Bertie "Ionia" was born Aug. 2, 1929 in Delhart, Texas to William O. and Emma L. Casey Stewart. She graduated from William Smith High School in Aurora, CO and continued her education at Amarillo , TX

Junior College. She was a registered nurse at Logan County Hospital.
She married Quinton Glenn Arnold Oct. 16, 1955 in Aurora, CO. They were married for 56 years.

Ionia enjoyed oil painting, knitting, crocheting, sewing , gardening, hunting, fishing and RVing and she always loved her cats.

She is survived by her sons Dan Arnold and wife Debbie of Douglas, WY and Ted Arnold and wife Janelle of Denver, CO, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren

Ionia was preceded in death by her parents ,her brother, and husband Glenn Arnold.
