Ben Irelan
Who had a "two thumbs up" kind of heart, lost the battle to cancer on August 18th at Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was 51.
He is survived by his loving companion Jake (dog), "Brother of a Different Mother" Greg Carmack, parents Carol Denton and Ben Irelan, Sr., two bothers Burt and David, wife Dawn Irelan, children Eric Fedler and Elizabeth Alkaifi, step children Robert Grant, Jason Grant, Sabrina Buzzard, 7 grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ben was legendary for putting everyone he met at ease. His laughter was infectious at work and at home. He loved to tickle children just to hear their laughter. He was happiest in nature searching for arrowheads, sitting around the bonfire with Jake and laughing with his friends and family. He left us all with beautiful memories. Though we can no longer see you, you are always at our sides and in our hearts with your "two thumbs up".
Services will be held in Sterling, CO on Friday August 22, 2014. The viewing will be held from 1:00 to 1:30 at Chaney Funeral Home, 443 S. 2nd St. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery, 18611 US Highway 6.
