Arthur Lee Wiebers, 88 of Sterling, passed away Thurs., Sept. 22, 2016 in Sterling. Visitation will be10am until 6pm on Tues., Sept. 27 with family receiving friends from 4pm until 6pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10am Wed., Sept. 28 at Christ United Church with Rev. Brian Kroger officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Art was born June 27, 1928 in Fleming, CO to Elmer Lee and Maggie Mae Christian Wiebers. He graduated from Fleming High School.
On Jan. 17, 1954 in Sterling he married Mary L. Smith. Arthur worked in Julesburg, the Logan County Highway Department and at Bill's Motors and Holloways before retiring in June 1993.
He as a member of Christ United Methodist Church, I.O.O.F. Logan Lodge No. 69, the Rebekah Lodge and was a past department commander of the Colo. Military Branch of Odd Fellows.
Art is survived by his wife Mary L. Wiebers of Sterling; sons Rodney Wiebers of Sterling and Edward Wiebers of Denver, CO; brother John Wiebers and wife Mary of Fleming, CO; sisters Lila Wilson and Dorothy Griess both of Sterling; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Arnold Wiebers, daughter Tamera Wiebers and brother William Wiebers.
