Obituary

Ann Lucero, 72, of Sterling, died March 31, 2009, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today, April 1, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, with services concluding at the hall.
She was born May 27, 1936, to Arthur and Lesida (Vigil) Romero in Hillrose. She graduated from high school.
Ms. Lucero moved to Sterling in 1969 to raise her eight children. She was baptized in 1969. Her faith was important to her.
She was employed at Logan County Hospital and worked in housekeeping with her sister, Dorothy, for many years.
Ms. Lucero is survived by her children, Laura Aquirre of Denver, Leonard Lucero of Greeley, Elmer Lucero of Thornton, Valerie Mendez of Denver, Debbie Songstad of Arvada, Adam Ray Lucero of Cozad, Neb., Dawn Marie Garza of Fort Lupton, Carol Ann Naugle of Sterling; sisters, Rose Romero, Virginia Martinez and Mary Ann Terrell, all of Denver; brothers, Gilbert Atencio of California and Alfonso Marquez of Denver; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
