Ann Whitcomb Ann Roy Whitcomb, 86, of Sterling, was called home to our Lord Jesus on Jan. 19, 2012, in Loveland, surrounded by her loving family. Private burial was held on Jan. 23. A memorial service to celebrate Ann's life will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 25, at the Gary DeSoto Building in Sterling. The family welcomes all friends.
Ann was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Santa Ana, Calif., to Edward and Cecelia (Koegler) Flanagan. She was raised in Santa Ana and moved to Sterling after her marriage to Milo Whitcomb on Feb. 18, 1945, at Lincoln Air Force Base in Lincoln, Neb.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and various social clubs.
Along with a great love for her family, Ann had a rare and uncomparable passion for all animals. She was a teacher to those around her of the significance of love and respect for life of every kind. She forever lived her beliefs.
Ann will be greatly missed by her husband of 67 years, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her husband, Milo Whitcomb of Sterling; son, Milo "Skip" Whitcomb and wife Margaret of Fort Collins; daughter, Ginger Whitcomb Wilson of Fort Collins; grandchildren, Leslie Whitcomb, Milo "Trace" Whitcomb and wife Ali, Anna Davis and husband Ryan, Mary-Cecelia Tharp and husband Spud, Dane Whitcomb; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sam, Maryn, Celie, Charlie; brother, Charles Flanagan of Irvine, Calif.; sister, Dean Luellen of Tustin, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cecelia Neth; and daughter, Cecelia Whitcomb Ray.
Memorials may be made to the Logan County Humane Society.
