Angel H. Vega Torres, 64, of Sterling, CO passed away on Tuesday Aug. 23 at NCMC Greeley, CO surrounded by her family.

She was born to the late Socorro and Emma Vega, October 26, 1946, in Sutherland, NE. Angel graduated from Sutherland High School in 1965. She married Nicholas A. Torres Sr. in November of 1965, and they lived together in North Platte, NE. before relocating to the state of Utah and then to Colorado in 1971.

Angel was passionate about spending time with her family. She followed her grandchildren's sporting events and music concerts. She loved to cook and bake. She loved to read. Her favorite books were the Holy Bible and Chicken Soup for the Soul and enjoyed long walks for exercise. Angel also attended Emmanuel Baptist Church of Sterling, CO.

Angel was preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael A. Torres. She is survived by her husband, Nicholas, and three children: Phillip D. Torres, of Alliance, NE; Donna V. Caballero and husband, of Evans, CO; and Nicholas A. Torres Jr. and wife, ofSterling, CO. She is also survived by eight brothers, one sister, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Closed casket visitation will be held from 10am until 6 p.m. August, 30, 2011 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. August 31, 2011 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery following the service.
