Obituary

Alvin D. Richhart, 85 passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 14, 2025. A celebration of Alvin's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Pat Riley officiating. The service will conclude at the church.

A Life Well Lived

Alvin was born on July 1, 1940, to Benjamin Franklin and Hazel (Jackson) Richhart in Proctor, Colorado. From the very beginning, Alvin was known for his kind heart, steady faith, and generous spirit.

In September of 1964, Alvin met the love of his life, Gloria, on a blind date. By December of that same year, he proposed, beginning a lifelong journey together. From that day forward, Alvin and Gloria were inseparable, spending everyday side by side through 60 beautiful years of marriage, celebrated joyfully in June of 2025.

The couple made their home in Sterling, Colorado, where they raised four wonderful children, three daughters and one son. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and faith. Alvin and Gloria raised their family in the Lutheran Church, providing each of their children with a strong spiritual foundation to guide them through life and into families of their own.

A Faithful Servant and Family Man

Alvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His deep faith guided every step of his life and shaped the way he cared for others. He was a God-fearing man, a leader of his family, and a friend to all.

He enjoyed gardening, wood working, Bible studies, spending time with friends and his newest pastime was karaoke and singing in the church choir.

To Alvin, there was never such a thing as a stranger—only friends he had yet to meet. He was full of joy and always ready to share a story or a joke, brightening the day of anyone lucky enough to cross his path.

His Legacy

Alvin leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever: his beloved wife Gloria, four devoted children, Barbara (Joey Perez) Kelley of Thornton, CO, William (Sandra) Richhart of Sebring, FL, Beverly (Allen) Norwood of Peyton, CO and Brenda (Travis Gotchall) Richhart of Lodgepole, NE; 14 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

His legacy of faith, kindness, and love will continue to live on through each of them. Alvin touched countless lives during his 85 years and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23
