Alma Leona Brunkhardt

Alma Leona Brunkhardt, 88, of Sterling, died Dec. 19, 2007, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Eugene Zeller officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Brunkhardt was born Feb. 14, 1919, in Hillrose to Emmett Lester and Effie Della (Detty) Stumpff. She graduated from high school. She was a clerk in car dealerships.
On Dec. 16, 1939, she married Harold A. Brunkhardt in McCook, Neb. She lived in Hillrose from 1939 to 1953, when she moved to Ault. In 1956, she moved to Denver, and then to Sterling in 1983, where she has since resided.
Mrs. Brunkhardt was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her sons, Albert L. Brunkhardt and wife Rosalyn of Westminster, and William H. Brunkhardt and wife Kathy of Many, La.; daughters, Janice L. Krieger and husband Thomas of Sterling, and Marlene Miller and husband Howard of Yuma; sister, Margie Brunkhardt of Lymon, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brunkhardt was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Brunkhardt.
